Didn't understand the situation/intent deep enough, don't understand what you really want. It is crucial to develop a deep understanding of the intention and the desire that you wish to manifest. You must see what is the reason for the intent and see the desired end result in all details and all the possible paths towards it.
Didn’t form the intention properly, too broad, unclear phrases. The formulation of the intent phrase is an important magical step. Best is to use only positive formulations, in the present time, with very clear and specific points.
Impatience, acting too fast. Patience is an important quality of the magician. Planning the magical operation in detail, choosing the best tools, the best times for the ritual.
Wrong rune formula/stave, not checking the stave. It is important to select the most effective runic stave for the intent. Using rune divination to analyze how it will work, what will be the side effects.
Not realizing that everything is interconnected. When you perform a magical ritual, it invokes a chain of transformations in all areas of life, in internal areas and in the external world. As above, so below. There can't be external changes without internal transformations.
Not knowing the runes deeply. To be successful in rune magick each rune must be understood deeply. That is done by passing the runic circle again and again and connecting with each rune.
Low personal energy. The personal energy of the magician is the main force powering the magical operation. Healthy food, clean water, physical activity, good sleep, mental hygiene and discipline, all are crucial for the success of your magick. You can not expect to consume trash energy (eating junk/fast food, drinking tap water, mindless scrolling of social networks, dwelling in negative emotions) and be a powerful magician at the same time.
Need to add external energy. Invoking external forces - gods, elements, planets into your magical operation improves success of the magick.
Wrong time of ritual, bad astrological time. An often overlooked part of runic magick is the selection of appropriate time for the ritual itself. You can not expect to swim against the stream of the river and still get to your destination. At least the moon phase and day of week must be synchronized with your intent. By ignoring this aspect, up to completely opposite results of rituals can happen.
